BREAK IN AT THE UDARNIK COMPOUND

Phoebe Hopps

Highly concerning reports have come out that there was a breach at the Udarnik Residence Compound.

Details are scarce due to the ongoing investigation, however we were able learn that, thankfully, nobody was hurt, and nothing of import was damaged or taken. Apparently the hero Wallace Udarnik arrived and scared off the intruders as soon as they arrived. Forced to decide between chasing down the invaders and ensuring the security of the compound he chose to ensure the safety and protection of the compound and therefore the city.

Wallace Udarnik and the police are now working to track down the criminals as quickly and efficiently as possible. They are asking the public to come forward about any Sparks they know with any kind of wind or invisibility spark.

SPARKED GANGS TERRORISE STREETS OF CITROPOLIS

We at the Sleuth are delighted to present an article from the winner of our write in competition and our newest intern, Euphemia Bennington.

Residents of the Redevelopment Area of Citropolis are left concerned after an increase in Sparked gang activities on the streets. This reporter spoke with some locals who witnessed one such incident.

“’Triple Threat’ they call themselves,” one terrified woman told us, “those awful Spark people, a horrible wolf monster, some kind of shadow creature, and a terrible bird.”

Our sources inform us that these three villains call themselves Howl, Shadow Caster, and Blowback respectively. We approached a city council representative, who preferred to remain anonymous, as to what the Mayor’s Office was planning to do to protect the streets and people of Citropolis. They assured us that there was something they were working on that they were certain would fulfil this purpose. We will keep a hopeful eye out for this move.

FOLLOW UP ON UDARNIK COMPOUND BREAK IN

Phoebe Hopps

We have received an update in the investigation into the Udarnik Compound break in that happened last week. The vigilante Zephyr, who readers might know from last year’s violence at the pier, has been taken in for questioning. This is not unexpected, since reports of a Spark with wind powers have been circulated. Once again, we ask readers to come forward about any Sparks they know with any kind of wind or invisibility spark.

SPARK REGISTRATION LEGISLATION ANNOUNCED

Phoebe Hopps

After a difficult month, welcome news has come in the announcement of new legislation that will tighten the rules on Spark Registration.

Under the new Sparked Registration Act, all Sparks will be legally required to formally register their identity and a description of their non-natural abilities. This will ensure that in the event of any criminal activity any Spark will be easier to track down, and that no Spark will be able to disguise their identity from any legal or government officials.

This legislation will be put forward to vote next month. Turn to page 5 for our political correspondent’s analysis.
