ATTACK ON MONORAIL BY SPARK SUPER VILLAIN

Phoebe Hopps

Terrifying sights in city centre yesterday as famed Sparked supervillain Phoenix made her most recent attack on the people of Citropolis. This time she attacked the city’s jugular, making a cowardly effort to take down the city via the monorail system.

Without warning, the villain Phoenix attacked the tracks of the monorail as a train full of innocent civilians approached, using her powers of flames to melt and destroy the tracks. Terrified citizens clung to their children in horror at their upcoming doom, but they did not need to fear.

As per usual, Phoenix underestimated the power of the city’s hero Wallace Udarnik. Just in the nick of time our hero appeared, and as Phoenix fled in fear in the face of someone strong enough to stand up to her, Wallace Udarnik bravely leapt in front of the train, using his incredible strength to slow the train down until it came to a safe stop before anybody could be harmed.

Wallace assures all the citizens of Citropolis that they do not need to fear the actions of villains such as Phoenix for as long as he is around to protect them.

Warehouse Destroyed in Freak Roof Collapse

An unused warehouse in the bay was entirely destroyed when the structural support beams gave way. The warehouse was empty and no one was hurt, but locals and businesses with property in the bay said the scenes were a frightening reminder of the neglect for proper regulations when the Bay's infrastructure was expanded.

Experts studied the wreckage and said that the instability was caused by ice freezing between girders, and suspect the real damage was done last winter. They report that this is an isolated occurrence - “a one in a million chance”, one said.

Stewart Soiree Secures Sixty Sopranos

Due to the success of the recent fundraiser at the Stewart Residence in the Plaza of Hours, sixty children from primary schools in the Redevelopment Area have been offered opera lessons by local charity, “An Inspiring Vision”. Mrs Elizabeth Stewart said she was blown away by the generosity of those who attended the event.

Wallace Udarnik Exclusive

In one of his rare moments of free time, local hero Wallace Udarnik was generous enough to give The Sleuth an exclusive interview about the future of Sparks in Citropolis.

“Places like The Alan Hoyne Institute have really opened up new opportunities for young Sparked individuals.” Udarnik explained, “I have full faith in the school, and with all of the other organisations for Sparked individuals here in Citropolis, to be giving Sparked people like me the future and prospects they deserve.”
